Admission Requirements for the MPhil Program

Applicants having an M.Sc Mathematics degree or a four year B.S. Mathematics degree are eligible to apply. Result awaiting applicants of their final exam of the M.SC or the four years B.S. program can also apply. Admission to the program will be based upon past academic performance, admission test and interview conducted by the School. The School will require exclusive time commitment from its students. Financial assistance will be provided to the students, subject to the availability of funds.


I. The structure of the MPhil admisssion test will be as follows.

Objective part 40% Subjective part 60% (90 minutes)
It is based upon: Analytic Part,English and Basics This Part is subjective type and is based upon core mathematics courses of four year BSc program Including: Calculus, Real and Complex Analysis, Topology and Functional Analysis, Abstract and Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Numerical methods.

II. Oral Examination

The students who qualify the part I, will be required to appear in the interview in order to determine suitability for higher education in Mathematics

  • The admission test will be communicated.
  • Only short-listed candidates will be called for the interview.
