Objectives:

The School is dedicated to graduate studies in mathematics. The school takes various initiatives for disseminating the latest developments in mathematical sciences to the Pakistani academic community. It organizes a large number of seminars, research schools, intensive courses and lecture series, which are open to all students and faculty in the country.

The main objectives of the visiting foreign faculty program at the School are as follows.

Teaching courses to MPhil and Ph.D. students.
Joint research supervision ofMPhil and Ph.D. theses.
Arranging thematic workshops/schools/conferences and seminars.
Research collaborations between foreign visitors, local faculty, postdoctoral fellows and students.
Advancement of fundamental knowledge of mathematics through intensive courses.
Capacity building through short academic programs usually ranging from 4 – 12 weeks in a semester on newly evolving and important areas of mathematical sciences.

The School offers a salary package be-fitting the official cadre of the visiting foreign faculty as per the TTS Salary Packages determined by the Board. The School offers return air-fare as per approved admissible rates. The School offers food and accommodation to all the foreign faculty members on subsidized rates. The School takes care of the local transportation of foreign faculty members.

The Selection Process:

The School presents all the submitted applications to the academic committee. The academic committee at the School is mainly responsible for choosing and determining the suitability of candidates and the intellectual scope of the School’s academic programs. It is responsible to make the annual schedule of academic programs in the light of proposed visiting schedules of foreign faculty members. The School contacts the candidates for discussing academic plans time to time during different phases of the process. The BOG of ASSMS finally approves the selection of the proposed list of visiting foreign faculty members in the light of proceeding recommendations. The School will contact the selected candidates for further proceedings in due course of time.
